Background :
The twinning agreement was implemented by a Group of Member States France, Austria, Finland and Germany.
In the framework of the agreement signed by the Hungarian Ministrry of Environment and France, actions in the water sector dealt with the revision of the procedure for discharge authorizations following the implementation of the Directive on dangerous substances, as well as the development of a method for the setting-up of a water quality monitoring network and systems for assessing the ecological quality of water courses
